Abstract
This study aimed to determine whether students from two Senior High Schools in Iloilo City preferred to view Korean dramas with English-subtitles or those dubbed in Tagalog. Specifically, the following objectives were answered by the study: (1) the profile of the senior high school respondents; (2) the preferred language of the respondents when watching Korean dramas; and (3) the respondents’ reasons for their preferred language in watching Korean dramas. The study used the researcher-made questionnaire answered by sixty (60) random Senior High School students from a public school and a private university. Data collected through the questionnaires were analyzed and interpreted using the data analysis and frequency distribution table. The results of the study showed that majority of the respondents preferred to watch the English-subtitled Korean dramas because they were more comfortable to watch and easier to understand for they find it weird and silly when watching the Tagalog-dubbed Korean dramas because it doesn’t sync with the movement of the actors’ mouth.
