From the internet to the big screen: A comparative analysis of “Diary ng Panget" Wattpad and movie versions

Abstract

This study aims to compare and to analyze the “Diary ng Panget" Wattpad and Movie Adaptation. The researcher read the “Diary ng Panget" Wattpad version in order to determine the content, plot, character and point of view of the story. Next, the researcher watched the “Diary ng Panget" movie version in order to determine the content, plot, characters and point of view in the movie. The of the movie and Wattpad reviews was done afterwards, in order for the researcher to compare the similarities and differences of the different elements present in the story such as content, plot, characters and point of view. The following findings are revealed: there are many revisions from the Wattpad version to movie version of “Diary ng Panget" from the beginning of the plot up to the end of the story. The Wattpad version is more detailed and picturesque which catches the attention of readers. There are scenes in the Wattpad version that are not presented in the movie.
