Entrepreneurial intentions of College of Business and Accountancy students to engage in business amidst COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract
The new coronary pneumonia epidemic had a tremendous impact in our lives. This made our world stops where the nationals had no choice but to implement protocols that only frontlines had a permission to go outside the house. This means that education even stops that gives an idea of the students intends to engage in business amidst Covid-19 pandemic. Some students intend to engage business for the reasons of finances or maybe family influence just because of peer influence orthey saw the pandemic as an opportunity. The purpose of the study is to determine the entrepreneurial intention of College of Business and Accountancy students to engage in business amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, researchers created a survey form to collect data from the respondents. The said respondents were 100 students from the Central Philippine University - College of Business and Accountancy. These respondents were then grouped into age, sex, monthly family income, and course. The data gathered from the survey were then subjected to descriptive and inferential statistical tools. Mean and standard deviation were used for the descriptive statistics. To derive conclusions from the collected data, t-test and One-way ANOVA were used. Consequently, regardless of age, sex, course, or monthly family income the respondents have very high entrepreneurial intentions to engage in business amidst the current pandemic in terms of finances. The study also revealed that in terms of family influence, both age and sex have high intentions of engaging in business. In terms of peer influence, there are high intentions of engaging in business when respondents are grouped into sex and age. The students from the College of Business and Accountancy have very high intentions of engaging in business in terms of opportunity regardless of their age, sex, course, or monthly family income. It is recommended students to push through this entrepreneurial intention to put up a business and explore businesses and engage in this actions as it has a high reward despite of high risk.
