This phenomenological study delves into the intricate world of pottery making in Pavia, Iloilo. Employing qualitative research methods, the research aims to understand the lived experiences of pottery makers, their perceptions, and the cultural significance embedded within their craft. Through in-depth interviews, observations, and immersion in the pottery-making process, the study explores the rich tapestry of meanings, emotions, and sensory experiences associated with this age-old tradition. By adopting a phenomenological lens, the research seeks to uncover the essence of pottery making in Pavia, Iloilo, shedding light on its historical roots, socio-cultural context, and its role in shaping identities and communities. Through interviews and observations, we hope to capture the essence of what makes pottery making in Pavia unique and valuable to its community. By shedding light on this traditional art form, we can raise awareness about the importance of preserving cultural practices that are at risk of being lost. Documenting the pottery making process in Pavia is essential for safeguarding this rich cultural heritage for future generations. This research paper aims to celebrate the artistry and craftsmanship of local artisans while highlighting the significance of traditional practices in maintaining cultural identity. The findings contribute to the preservation and appreciation of local heritage while offering insights into the lived realities of artisans in the contemporary world. This study will contribute to a deeper understanding of the role that pottery plays in shaping identity and fostering community connections in Pavia, Iloilo.
