This research investigates the social and economic impacts of the Iwag Festival in Pototan, Iloilo, specifically in the barangays near the town center. The study is a quantitative research, utilizing a researcher-made survey questionnaire, which was distributed among 323 respondents ages between 40-59, 79 from Lopez Jaena Ward, 72 from San Jose Ward, 100 from Primitivo Ledesma Ward, and 72 from Fernando Parcon Ward. The study showed that the majority of respondents considered the Iwag festival to positively impact their communities' social aspects. The main positive outcomes identified by the participants were an increase in Community cohesion, strengthening social bonds, and a better understanding of culture's identity. In addition, it was noted by respondents that the festival offered opportunities for social interaction and cultural exchange and fostered a sense of unity among the residents. The positive impact of the Iwag Festival has been acknowledged by a significant number of respondents in terms of economic impact. Economic benefits included a boost in local businesses, increased tourism, and the creation of employment opportunities during the festival period. The findings show that by stimulating local trade and attracting visitors, the festival contributed to the economic development of the community. The study reveals that the Iwag festival stimulated trade and attracted visitors, impacting the community's economy. However, the study found no significant differences in perceptions of the festival's impact based on age, address, or social status. Address was found to be the most significant factor, but not age or social status.en_US
