dc.description.abstract | This is a study on the knowledge and practices about sepal weaving in San Lorenzo, Guimaras. Sapal Weaving is associated with Community-Based Rural Tourism. This form of tourism is difficult to find due to the term "rural." In studying one of the cultural and livelihood traditions of the people of Guimaras, the researchers had hoped to promote and explore sapal weaving industry. Through their involvement and commitment, all people of the community are encouraged to enrich their livelihoods and goods in order to assist their economic sustainability. The Sapal Weavers Association (SWA) in Guimaras strives to put their products in the spotlight so that they are known not just in Guimaras, but across the Philippines. The goal is to assist Sapals Weavers of Brgy. Sapal San Lorenzo Guimaras through promotions conducted by the researchers in order to spread information about their practices, as well as for the researchers to know and understand further the life of the weavers and what the weavers are doing to boost their products and economy in order to sustain their daily needs and necessities in their community. Weaving is more than just a form of art for indigenous Filipinos; it is also a way of life that stretches back to Spanish colonialism. | en_US |
