Abstract
The Parity Amendment appended to the Philippine Constitution becomes a live issue as 1974, when the Parity Agreement ends, is drawing near. The present feeling is that neither the Filipinos nor the Americans are interested in prolonging this part of the Philippine Constitution.

It is stated that it was wrong to have Parity appended to the Philippine Constitution in the beginning. Most people think so, even President Manuel Roxas said so, but it was necessary to save the country and the people from the ravages of the Second World War.
