In-service education needs of CPU faculty members in relation to selected variables

The purpose of this investigation aimed to find out the in-service education needs of CPU faculty members. It also aimed to determine whether or not faculty’s age, sex, educational preparation and level of job satisfaction are significantly related their needs for in-service education. A one-shot survey research design was used among 151 samples from different colleges of CPU employing a stratified sampling technique. Mean, frequency count and percentages were used to describe the respondents while Gamma and Chi-square tests were used for test of relationships when variables were cross tabulated. The in-service education needs of the respondents when treated per item were to a “great extent” while their job satisfaction was at a “moderate” level. Findings revealed that only job satisfaction level was significantly related to the in-service education needs (Gamma=0.288, p = 0.021) of the faculty members of Central Philippine University.
