This study examined the lived clinical experiences of nursing students assigned in Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in Iloilo City. Participants were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interview. The data were then transcribed and analyzed by means of a simplified version of Hycner’s (1985) process. The findings revealed three major themes, namely: feelings toward the environment, knowledge and skills enhancement and perception of the experience. The identified themes provide insights toward students’ perceptions of experience and approaches to learning over time through observation of and reflection on their on-going participation in the care of critically ill patient.en_US
