Abstract
Quality of Nursing Work Life (QNWL) has recently gained attention in identifying the challenges of nurses in their work life and addressing these personal and work-related issues among Filipino nurses at the hospitals in foreign countries. This descriptive- correlational study was conducted to determine the factors related to the quality of nursing work life (QNWL) of the selected 127 Filipino nurses at government hospitals in Tabuk and Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia using convenient sampling. The data were gathered employing the Quality of Nursing Work Life Survey by Brooks (2007) and were subjected to descriptive statistics (mean, frequency tables) and inferential statistics (Phi coefficient and Gamma coefficient).

The Filipino nurses working at the government hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are middle-aged, married, and have better pay than the other nurses do. More Filipino staff nurses have 11 years of hospital experience. Those who have been working for 10 years abroad are connected with the hospitals in Tabuk. These Filipino nurses have high-quality nursing work life. Such indicates that they are able to balance work life and family life, understand the nature of their work, and explore the impact of the work environment on both nurse and patient as well as the effects of broad societal on the nursing practice. Personal characteristics, like age, civil status, and income of the Filipino nurses, do not determine their quality of nursing work life. The nurse’s work designation or job description has to some extent influence their quality of nursing work life, while the quality of nursing work life varies in geographical location. The nurses who are working in Jeddah have higher QNWL compared to their Tabuk counterparts. The Filipino nurses’ designation and the environment of their work place result to a high - quality nursing work life because they have been trained and shaped to become professionals beyond borders.
