dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted to determine the level of satisfaction of the faculty members of Central Philippine University for the school year 2005-2006. It also hoped to determine relationships that exist between level of satisfaction and personal characteristics such as age, sex, civil status, religion, educational attainment, length of service and basic monthly income. It also sought to compare satisfaction level of faculty for school year 2004-2005 and school year 2005-2006. The sample consisted of two-hundred fifteen (215) randomly selected faculty coming from different colleges/departments of the university. Mean was used to describe the characteristics of the respondents. Pearson’s-r, Gamma, Chi-square and Z-test measures were used and tested at the 0.05 level of significance using two-tailed test. Results revealed that faculty members were mostly “satisfied” in all areas of faculty satisfaction in the university, namely: physical working condition; communication; planning and implementation of policies; roles and functions; supervisory consideration; training, career, social and spiritual development; and remuneration and benefits. Over-all satisfaction result shows that faculty members of Central Philippine University were “satisfied”. Of the variables involved, only educational attainment, basic monthly income and number of years of service have inverse significant relationships with level of satisfaction. Moreover, faculty members were more satisfied last year than this year. | en_US |
