Gaps between applications software taught by the CPU College of Commerce and used by the business houses of Iloilo City
Abstract
This study determined the gap between the theory and practice of applications software taught by the CPU College of Commerce and Used by the Business Houses of Iloilo City. Respondents were purposely drawn from CPU College of Commerce, Banks, Private Business Enterprises, and Public Offices. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyze data collected from 60 respondents in a one-shot survey. The finding showed that the College of Commerce has a wider gap in the theoretical teachings of Applications Software and the ability of the students to use this advanced knowledge in practical situations. Further nimplication is that students of this college could be locally competitive in the labor market in particular where computer knowledge is required.
