dc.description.abstract | This survey-correlational investigation attempted to determine the teaching competence, teaching efficiency, emotional maturity, and job satisfaction of the faculty members of Central Philippine University for school-year 2005-2006. Data for this investigation were gathered from 220 faculty members of the University using a five section data-gathering instrument. The instrument was face and content validated and revised. Data were presented using percentages, means and standard deviations and analyzed using the t-test for independent samples and pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient. Alpha level for inferential statistics was set at 0.05. Results of the investigation reveal that the respondents consider themselves very efficient teachers, very mature emotionally, satisfied with their job and very good/highly satisfactory in their teaching competence. They differed significantly in their teaching efficiency when grouped according to age and number of years of teaching. In terms of their emotional maturity, they differed significantly when grouped according to number of children and did not differ in all categories on their job satisfaction. They also differed significantly on their teaching competence when grouped according to age, number of children, number of years of teaching, and tenure status. Teaching efficiency, emotional maturity and job satisfaction were found to be significantly related to teaching competence. | en_US |
