Abstract
This study seeks to analyze the two major themes in the Filipino Theology of Struggle namely: the spirituality of the struggle and the primacy of the peoples’ participation. Critical analysis of library and electronic materials on the Theology of Struggle is used including the history of the Filipino struggle and the development of the theology. Review and analysis of the CPBC TEMC program including its background, rationale, theological assumptions, mission, vision and objectives, and approaches and strategies as well as the involvements of CPBC pastors in the struggle has been made. It shows that the study of the Filipino Theology of Struggle and conscientization of pastors were not included in the continuing theological education curriculum.
The study has identified six implications of the two main themes of the Filipino Theology of Struggle to the CPBC TEMC program. It was also found that though there were CPBC pastors who took part in the struggle of the people, the movement was not supported by the CPBC.
