Аннотации
This study was conducted to identify viable areas for a Sanitary Landfill (SLF) in the province of Iloilo. The study aims to determine various location restrictions among the municipalities among Iloilo, determine site specific characterization of a certain municipality and its barangays, and to provide adequate recommendations for the potential SLF. The methodology included data acquisition, plotting of excluded areas, identification of candidate areas from the map, site survey and evaluation, and lastly recommendations. The initial findings identified the municipality of San Miguel as a suitable option among the municipalities. This study also describes the physical conditions of San Miguel such soil properties, land area, topography, etc. Each barangay in San Miguel, except for barangay Poblacion, was evaluated to provide a deeper understanding of the strength and weakness of each barangay. Recommendations were provided to further improve or reduce any impact that may befall upon construction of an SLF.
