Ministry to the Ao youth of Nagaland, pastoral care paradigms

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to develop a pastoral care that would seek to empower young people in the changing context of the Ao community. Nagas are going through a period of transition and paradigm shifts which affect the whole life style of the people. Thus pastoral care is a challenge of the church. The church needs critical re-evaluation of her ministry and new ways to step towards the pastoral care oriented ministry. In developing this approach of care I will examine Biblical teaching with regards to the empowering of individual [particularly with Jesus of Nazareth]. I will look at the essence of theology of pastoral care in sequence with dialogue and with counseling approach, and seek to develop a contextual approach of pastoral applicable that will empower young people in the Ao church of Nagaland.
