Abstract
Public markets are known as the center and active place for commerce and trade. They focus on local businesses with different stalls selling different products. The municipality of Tangalan lacks a functioning public market due to its age, and people find it hard to find what they need because some stalls are not functioning. These can be resolved by constructing a new, functional, and environment friendly public market that will aid the needs of the people. This study presents all technical plans of the proposed public market. The designed public market consists of two floors. Green building technology was also integrated in the proposed project. The significance of this proposed project upon implementation includes the following: (a) It can provide new and safe building for the tenants; (b) give enough space for the tenants for their products; (c) provide a parking space for the transportations of the customers; and (d) provide better service for the people of Tangalan. The public market has a total floor area of approximately 1,854 square meters. The construction will last for 231 working days, with an estimated cost of PHP 26,960,098.73, and will be funded by the Local Government Unit and other private sectors that are willing to be part of the project.
