Abstract
This study aimed to determine The Effects of Makeup Usage on the Level of Self-esteem of College Students in a Private Higher Education Institution for the Academic Year 2024-2025. Quasi-experiment quantitative research using one group pre-test and post-test design for two groups was employed. The respondents of the study were 63 female students who were selected through purposive sampling. The Rosenberg Self-Esteem scale was utilized in determining the level of self-esteem of the respondents. For descriptive statistics, the median was employed. For inferential analysis, The Mann-Whitney U Test was set at .05 level of significance. Out of 63 respondents, there were 29 students who were classified as basic makeup users and 34 students were heavy makeup users. When classified as an entire group, the respondents exhibited a high level of self-esteem and as well as when classified according to makeup usage. As an entire group, the level of self-esteem before and after makeup application among college students are both high. When classified according to basic and heavy makeup usage, the levels of self-esteem among college students before and after makeup application were still both high. There was a significant difference in the level of self-esteem when classified according to basic and heavy makeup usage during the post-test only.
