Abstract
This study was conducted to assess the implementation of the coastal resource management in Barangay Avila, Buenavista, Guimaras. Specifically, the study aimed to determine the socio-economic profile of households living near the Avila Marine Sanctuary, level of awareness, involvement, and perceived achievements/ accomplishments of Avilla Marine Sanctuary Management Program; the relationship between the profile of the households and their level of awareness, involvement, and their perceived accomplishments of the program; and, the interrelations between awareness, involvement and perceived accomplishment of the program. The study made use of the one-shot survey design to gather data from a total of 90 respondents using a researchermade interview schedule. Results of the study revealed that the respondents were generally females, married, housewives, in their forty’s, with high school level of education, and earning an average of PHP 53,467.11. The level of involvement of the respondents in Coastal Resource Management was directly or positively related to their level of perceived achievement of the Coastal Resource Management.
