Аннотации
This study aimed to investigate the common perceived difficulties in writing in English of first year BS Accountancy students of Central Philippine University. A researcher-made personal data questionnaire was used to gather data needed for the study. Findings show that majority of Freshmen BS Accountancy students like to write in English. The studies found out that a great number of students have difficulties in grammar. On the other hand these students only write in English when needed. Moreover, essay was the genre preference of the majority of students. Thus, it is recommended that students should be provided with remedial classes to strengthen their writing knowledge and understanding of the rules of grammar for them to be aware of proper usage. Moreover, students should be motivated to express themselves in English through writing. Lastly, English teachers should further teach the basic rules of grammar and encourage students to write in English.
