Аннотации
This study researched on the relationship between pet care and depression among residents of Barangay Lopez Jaena Sur, La Paz, Iloilo City. There were 30 participants that engaged in the survey and the chosen residents were asked questions regarding pet ownership and questions that determined their current level of depression. The results of the study show that almost all of the different aspects of pet care did not have a significant impact on the state of depression of the residents. The only variable that showed a particular relationship in depression is pet feeding. Majority of the participants are females and are self-employed which is the reason why feeding is the only variable that came out as significant when tested with the level of depression of each respondent. Most of the residents are away during the day to work and the only time they bond with their pets is when they arrive home and eventually feed their pets. Most of the respondents who participated did not have a high level of depression which also supports the outcome of this study that of all the aspects of pet care, pet feeding is the only variable that stood out significantly when it was tested with depression.
