A survey of the use of smart phones and the social and academic lives of CPU Korean students
摘要
This study is a survey of the use of smart phones and the social and academic lives of CPU Korean Students. The respondents were 50 Korean college students of Central Philippine University during the first semester of academic year 2013-2014. A one shot survey questionnaire of three parts was used to gather the data. This research shows that majority of the CPU Korean students are females and age of 19 years old. They are living alone and their family income is more than 2,000,000WON(USDl,884) a month. They are taking up BSED and are first year college students. For occupations, fathers are business men and mothers are house wives. They use smart phones for more than 3 hours a day. They use smart phones for talking with their family and friends, and spend below 300 pesos for the smart phones. They use it for social network program. For academic level self-evaluations they have high grades in school, sometimes do homework regularly, can focus on studies, attend class regularly, and always submit reports on time. For social level self-evaluation they sometimes talk with family, have many friends, watch movies with friends, go to restaurant with friends, and sometimes go shopping with friends. They have good social lives and good academic lives. Even though they use smart phone more than three hours a day, CPU Korean students have good academic and social level.
