Résumé
LaPaz Police Station is in the vicinity of Iloilo City proper and is prone to a lot of crimes. This study seeks to answer some questions that arise in the field of crime busting and crime control. How can a record be free from tampering? How easily can a process of suspect identification be completed? How much time is needed to retrieve and store data of the suspect? These problems can be solved by using the proposed computer system. With computers a lot of improvement in recording, retrieving and storing all records of suspects and the accused can be seen.

Criminal investigations and suspect apprehensions often proved a tough nut to crack for law enforcers as they try to operate within law enforcement regulations while not overstepping on the rights and privileges of every citizen in this country. They often have to contend on the possibilities of fighting charges on human rights abuse and other technicalities provided by law to protect the innocent.

To make safe arrest or apprehension, law enforcers must have something very close to positive identification of suspects mentioned. People often make reports or complaints supported with just a meager description of suspect or suspects without the aid of sophisticated searching software. Police officers often had to make guesses on suspects based on recent activities and the gravity of crimes committed. With this unreliable method of identification, suspects arrested most often finds our law enforcement officers in hot waters should the arrest proved to be a farce. This development leads to the hesitance of the police force to act on reports, often allowing criminals to go Scot free with the lead-time provided.

With the implementation of the Police Files Information System just basic description of suspects could be enough for positive identification. Since the system includes addresses and hangouts of the suspects, fast action could lead to immediate apprehension before suspects should even realized what is happening.

The system could also generate all-important statistics even for not easily noticeable series of crimes. This will put the police force on alert and will provide clues for them to prevent another crime of this type to be committed.

Should the system be linked with other police stations in the city, using this software, the entire police force of city of Iloilo would be instantly informed of what is happening in every nook and cranny of their combined areas of responsibility.
