When no one notices
Abstract
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition experienced by a person who has undergone a terrifying event. It is commonly happening to the victims of sexual abuse and assault, veterans returning from war, robbery, or domestic violence. Serious physical or psychological injury can also contribute to the development of this disorder. However, it is not only limited to these events, for the consideration of a terrifying event varies from one person to another.
Experiencing PTSD could lead to terrible risk factors like hurting oneself, letting sharp objects pass through the skin, suicidal thoughts, or worse, committing suicide.
Having the idea what PTSD could lead to, the researchers formulated a study entitled “When No One Notices”. It is a short narrative film which aims to spread awareness and gives a better understanding to people of what a person with PTSD undergoes. The film is simple and understandable with unique cinematic angles called as The Art of Framing and Breaking its Rules in Cinematography to communicate certain crucial emotions to the viewers. May this be a helpful tool for people who suffer from PTSD by giving them an idea of what to do and whom to seek help in order to prevent negative outcomes. Be sensitive towards others for we do not know what they are going through.
The researchers hope the viewers to enjoy the film and gain useful insights from it.
