dc.description.abstract | This study is geared towards the development of a teaching module in Adapted Physical Education as an instructional guide for teachers in the new normal. Specifically, it sought to achieve the following: (1) to determine the experiences of special education teachers in teaching adapted physical education particularly the topic of perceptual motor skills; (2) to determine the teaching needs of special education teachers in terms of content, activities and assessment; (3) to develop a teaching module in Adapted Physical Education incorporating the competency standards by the DepEd; and (4) to evaluate the module in teaching perceptual motor skill. The Input-Process-Output (IPO) Model was used and twenty-three (23) Special Education teachers, eleven (11) parents and four (4) experts have participated in the study. An interview guide was used in the focus group discussions with the teachers, parents and experts. The thematic analysis model of Creswell (2009) was employed. The researcher had found that special education teachers have difficulty in implementing individualized instructions because of the unavailability of a module in adapted physical education. The content of the developed module is centered on Perceptual Motor Skills and was evaluated by Special Education and Physical Education experts. | en_US |
