Factors associated with the library users knowledge and attitude towards the integrated library system of UKIM Library: A basis for a proposed training program

摘要
This study was undertaken to determine the library users’ knowledge and attitude towards an integrated library system. This is a descriptive study which employed a oneshot survey design the study population were students, faculty and librarians, a total of 300 respondents. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire.

Frequency distribution, and mean research were used to describe the respondents according to their age, program, length of use ICT, ICT training/seminar, ICT utilization, knowledge and attitude toward integrated library system. The data were processed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).

The results of the study revealed that majority of the students were 20 years old and below. The in mean age was 21 years old. The faculty and librarians were 46 years old and above, and them mean age was of 45 years old. Most of them were enrolled in non-library science programs. They have been using ICT for years and more. The majority of the respondent have not attended any training/seminar related to ICT and integrated library system. Nearly half of librarian have attended training/seminar related to ICT.

Students, faculty and librarian have knowledge fairly adequate and favorable attitude regarding the utilization of ICT toward integrated library system. Then became the basis for making example training proposed training program.
