In the Philippines, public markets are considered as a center for commerce and business. The existing public market of Belison, Antique faces problems such as corroded roof, deteriorated ceiling, insufficient transient stalls, and unorganized stalls. The tricycle terminal beside it has insufficient roof and lot area with unconcreted floors. To address these problems, a two-storey public market building with tricycle terminal is proposed. The proposed project has a total lot area of 3,130 square meters where 2,500 square meters is for the public market and 630 square meters for the tricycle terminal. The public market building has 146 permanent stalls and 125 transient stalls on the ground floor and 14 offices and shops on the second floor. The proposed tricycle terminal can accommodate 24 tricycles at a time. Green building technology is integrated in the design such as LED lighting and louver walls for lesser energy consumption. The study includes architectural, structural, electrical and plumbing plans in accordance with the existing codes and regulations. The National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP 2010), Ultimate Strength Design (USD) for reinforced concrete members and Allowable Strength Design (ASD) for steel truss were used as basis for the structural design. The project has duration of 196 days with an estimated cost of Php 61,365,256.61 and will be funded by the Local Government Unit of Belison.en_US
