| dc.description.abstract | The municipality of Janiuay in Iloilo has two existing municipal halls. The Old Municipal Hall poses risks to the employees and clients due to its deteriorating state meanwhile, the current one lacks enough office space to house various government offices. This project study provided a design of a two-storey multi-purpose government building while preserving of the historical design of the old municipal hall. To develop the architectural design, data collection was conducted through site visit, actual observation and measurement. To start the the structural design, geo-technical observation was done in order to determine the bearing capacity and properties of the soil. After data collection, Preliminary plans were drafted, such as architectural , electrical, plumbing, and structural design. The proposed structure is made of concrete and steel. Ultimate Strength Design Method, 2010 National Structural Code of the Philippines and AutoCAD were used in designing all concrete members. The design of the building incorporates green building technology by using LED bulbs. The proposed government building will have a total floor area of 348.4 square meters. The project can be constructed in 326 calendar days. It has an estimated cost of Php 18,509,000 including materials and labor cost. The project is funded by the local government unit (LGU) of Janiuay and other private sectors that are interested to donate and assist for the implementation of the construction. | en_US |
