Abstract
For farmers with difficulties when planting corn, they need portable tool that would eliminate bending down as well as reduced planting time. As they face difficulties, one example is straining their back due to bending down for hours. Thus, the aim of was study is to design, fabricate, and test a portable tool, proved that the Portable corn planter is remarkable for reducing corn planting time. It allowed the user to dispense corn competitively against traditional tool. One of the limitations of using the tool was its metering mechanism where it would only dispense specific variety of corn seed and with correct size. Portable corn planter would be a practical substitute to the traditional tool providing efficiency when planting corn. The device was fabricated successfully, assembled, and tested for data gathering. The device was able to plant corn 37.9% on average faster than the traditional corn planting tool proving that the specific objectives and targeted improvements for manual corn planting using the traditional tool as baseline were achieved with the improved tool.
