The public market is an integral part of the community which makes a significant contribution to the income and general welfare of municipalities as well as the lives of many people everyday. This project study focused on the proposed public market in Jamindan, Capiz. The current public market in Jamindan does not have any proper planning which poses problems as regards physical, social, and environmental factors. These include lack of facilities, poor structural integrity, congestion, waste issues, etc. This study covered the proposed design of a new public market in Jamindan, Capiz. It has an approximate area of 3,600 square meters and is composed of three buildings: Building A, Building B, and Main Building. Buildings A and B are for stalls and services which are constructed as two-storey so as to provide additional spaces for more services, like pharmacy, clinic, barbershop, and computer shop. The main building is for eateries and dry and wet sections. A new road network is developed in order to improve the flow of a traffic in the market. One of the notable features integrated in the design that incorporates green building technology is the skylight roofing insulator. The design for the structure was referred by the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP 2010), Ultimate Strength Design (USD) for reinforcement of concrete members and Allowable Stress Design (ASD) for steel. The project has a duration of 307 working days with an estimated cost of Php 43,430,007.00. It will be funded by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of the municipality of Jamindan.en_US
