| dc.description.abstract | The newsgathering process contributes to most of the time spent in news production. According to an interview with journalists in the province and city of Iloilo, Philippines, this takes an average of six hours of their time. Alleviating the current situation in the newsroom on research and news monitoring becomes the main focus of the development of this study. Sqoop is a newsroom content discovery and management tool that aims to provide users with an efficient way of monitoring news online. Specifically, it wanted to address the time-consuming process of monitoring, tracking specific topics, and verifying the information they found. The application was made using Nodejs and React with Typescript. The application was evaluated by members of six active student publications of Central Philippine University using ISO/IEC/25010 consisting of the following qualities: functional suitability, performance efficiency, usability, reliability, and security. The application obtained an overall mean of 4.33 equivalent to an "Excellent" rating. | en_US |
