| dc.description.abstract | The study explored the story about shifting courses in college among the selected shiftee college students in Central Philippine University. This study is a narrative inquiry that makes use of semi-structured interviews for gathering the data through the stories of the participants before, during and after shifting courses in college. A sample of five (5) participants were selected using the purposive sampling method through the prescreening interview. The participants had to be enrolled college students in Central Philippine University, shiftees who are continuing undergraduate students and who shifted in the proceeding semester/academic year, and who are at least 18-25 years old. The researchers had a face-to-face audio-recorded interview with each participant. The data gathered were transcribed and analyzed using Braun and Clarks' Thematic Analysis through which thematic results emerged. Results of this study revealed four (4) main themes that revolved around shifting courses in college namely: "Story of Contemplation" which refers to the act of thorough thinking about a future action. "Story of Implementation" which means putting a plan or idea into action. "Story of New Beginning" that uncovers the life of students after they have shifted. Lastly, "Story of Nugon" conveys the sorrow of the shiftee students who invested time and resources into their previous course, however, it also captures their desire to make things better in the future to compensate. | en_US |
