Abstract
This study aimed to describe the profiles of Iloilo City youth leaders and their awareness of, participation in, perception of the effectiveness, satisfaction, and importance of the programs and services of the Local Youth Development Office of Iloilo City. It also explored the interrelationship and differences in the awareness, participation, effectiveness, satisfaction and the importance of programs and services of the LYDO. This descriptive-correlational study used a one-shot survey design. Data collected from 136 youth leaders-respondents were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Results revealed that the highest number of youth leaders are from City Proper or Arevalo, college students, 18 to 20 years old, single, male, unemployed, elected with no incentives received and have attended trainings. They had moderate level of awareness, participation, satisfaction and importance and perceived high level of effectiveness of the programs and services of the LYDO. There were significant differences in awareness, effectiveness, and importance according to the location of the respondents; differences in importance according to their age; differences in effectiveness according to their sex; and differences in participation according to their number of trainings attended. Participation in programs and services was significantly related to perceived effectiveness of programs and services. Perceived effectiveness of programs and services was significantly related to satisfaction and importance of programs and services.
