Wiwu: Emergency response application
Abstract
Contacting emergency response units during times of need in the Philippines is not as efficient and accessible when weighed against the established systems of the United States of America. There are perceptible flaws. The system fails to identify prank callers. These calls have non-traceable identity. Responders have a strenuous time pinpointing the location of the emergency. It is not optimal in these situations. The application wiwu is a support system to the established emergency response systems in the Philippines. The name is an onomatopoeia for ambulance sirens. Wiwu’s objective is to address the flaws of the current system. It will make use of Google Maps API to show responders the precise whereabouts of the emergency. It will have various accessible emergency departments. It will employ Twilio to verify users via video verification. It will use Firebase to store all the user data. The data is used to identify legible application end users. The expected outcome of this study is an application bearing these solutions
