[Speech delivered during the 10th Justice Calixto Zaldivar Memorial Lecture last October 13, 1990 at CPU]
Since the December 1989 coup d'état, groups of concerned Filipinos have come to the considered conclusion that unless we get our several acts together, forget our selfish interests for the common good, and reach a consensus on what this nation should be and what we are willing to do to get there, the freedom and democracy we like to identify with the EDSA revolution of February 1986 may vanish altogether.
