Abstract
This study investigated the Facebook participation of the 49 fourth year Special Science Class of Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School. The researcher made use of the demographic survey and profiling to identify the respondent’s characteristics and Facebook participation. The results of the study showed that majority of the respondents were female, 16 years old, from Archimedes section, Roman Catholic, mostly living in the Municipality and use Hiligaynon. It also reflected that majority of them had grades between 91 to 95 as their highest grade attained and had between 83 to 86 as their lowest grade attained. Most of them also played “Candy Crush”, spent 1 to 2 hours chatting with online friends, viewed profile as their top activity, and used the English language for posts on Facebook. Since most of the respondents spend 1 to 2 hours a day of getting online, it is recommended that parents should guide and monitor their children’s participation and teachers also play a great role in guiding their students in using the social media properly.
