dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to identify the values in the selected short stories of Jane Yolen. Specifically, it answered the questions what are the values depicted by the main characters in the short stories, the common theme found in the short stories and the values of the main characters classified as positive, negative or neutral. The moral approach was used to identify the values depicted by the main characters in both short stories which showed patience and kindness. “Love for the family” is the common theme found in the short stories. It also showed that the main characters’ values could be classified as neutral and positive. Thus, the study “Values in the Selected Short Stories of Jane Yolen” was conducted.en_US
