dc.description.abstract | This study was designed to develop a Management Information System for Western Visayas Sanitarium. It focused on the following objectives: A database that would store and retrieve patient’s record more efficiently and securely, a lab-scheduler module that would generate schedule of laboratory tests for each patient to minimize the queuing outside the laboratory room, a cashier’s interface that would determine the total amount to be paid by the patient for laboratory test, a billing and payment module that would process all the billing and payment transactions and generate periodic consolidate reports and a module that would generate reports on common illness on a weekly and monthly basis. The methodology used for the development of the system was the Iterative System Development Life Cycle which has the following stages: planning and requirements, analysis and design, implementation, testing, evaluation, and deployment. The result showed that the proposed Management Information System would innovate the traditional way of processing, and would make the hospital into an efficient, environmental-friendly interface tool for viral information dissemination. As a whole, the proposed system is a great help in the transaction processing management of the hospital from the current system of hospital processing. | en_US |
