dc.description.abstract | This study determined the extent of utilization and perceived adequacy of library resources; and the efficiency of services of the teacher education faculty members and fourth-year students of a State Higher Education Institution System in Northern Iloilo. This study also explored the relationship among the variables involved. The study adopted the descriptive-correlational method and used the one-shot survey design. A researcher-constructed questionnaire was used for data collection. The data collected were analyzed using frequency distributions, Chi-square, and Gamma for the relational analyzes. Findings revealed that both faculty members and students perceived the quality level of library resources as good. In terms of the quantity of resources, both faculty members and students rate them as sufficient, while library services were found to be moderately efficient. The overall assessment of both faculty and students of the extent of utilization of library resources and services was high. No significant relationship was found between the faculty members’ age, sex, and tenure and their perceived adequacy of library resources, however, their educational attainment was significantly related to their perceptions of the library resources’ adequacy. Students’ age and sex were not related to their perception of the adequacy of library resources. Educational attainment of faculty was significantly related to their extent of utilization of the library resources. On the other hand, students' characteristics were not related to their extent of utilization of the library resources. Finally, a significant relationship was found between the respondents' perceived adequacy of library resources and their extent of utilization of library resources and services. | en_US |
