Abstract
The Tax collection of the Municipality of San Jose, Antique is still being done manually with the use of electronic cash register in receiving the payments and calculators and adding machines in computing and summing up of the total amount of tax to be paid. With the investigations and observations of the group, the processing of payment and of the of taxpayer is slow, part of the procedure in assessing and paying is redundant and the percentage of error is high when computing for the total amount of taxes.

The group recommends the computerization of the said system. The problems encountered in the manual process will be minimized or eliminated with the use of computers. The process of payment will speed up especially in the computation of the taxes of the taxpayers, it will save time and effort especially in retrieving the taxpayers information and the procedure of paying will be shorten. The Municipal employees who will be in-charge of the system will directly benefit on the proposed system since their work will speed up and they will not exert much effort and time. The government can also benefit on the proposed system since collection of taxes involves money. The flow of money can be easily monitored. And the government can also provide better service to the public.

The proposed tax collection system tries to answer the following problems:

1. How to make technological adjustments in the municipality?

2. How to speed up the tax collection process in the municipality?

3. How to provide a more efficient system in the retrieval of data regarding the tax payer?

4. How to improve the financial management procedures through computerization in the municipal government of San Jose, Antique?
