dc.description.abstractThe College of Computer Studies Website is purposely designed for the College of Computer Studies of Central Philippine University. The system aims to provide a new means for students and teachers in their communication, to advertise the college on the web and to serve as an aid for teaching and learning. The system has features and capabilities that would meet the said objectives of the system. The system creates a discussion environment. It contains a forum with chat that would allow students and instructors to exchange tips, ideas and discuss different topics on the web. It also has an online forum for the visitors to post their inquiries, comments and feedbacks. The system also advertises the college on the web. The system includes the course offerings of the college with its respective curriculum. The system contains information about the alumni of the college. It also provides an online registration for them to be able to login to the site. It also contains information about the college: this includes its vision, mission, researches, outreach programs and a school calendar to update users of the events happening in CPU. Visitors will be able to look at the profiles of the faculty and students enrolled in the college. It also contains a vicinity map that would allow visitors to have a look around the campus. The system also aims to serve as an aid for teaching and learning. It would allow students to submit their assignments and projects to the net. It would also allow students to download lecture notes, assignments and laboratory exercises. Instructors on the other hand could post their announcements on the net. An email account is provided only for students and instructors who have activated their accounts. For the implementation of the system, a computer would be provided in the UCSC to serve as a server for the website. Administrators would be able to edit the pages through the Internet without going to the UCSC.en_US
