Abstract
This thesis study is focused on the development of an Automated Student Services Information System and Technology (ASSIST) for the Filamer Christian College Computer Science Department. It is aimed at integrating multiple-monitor programming and split screen technology and utilizing the available computing and multimedia resources of the department to augment the current means of information dissemination in view of the deficiencies they present. ASSIST is made up of various subsystems which include a bell system, scheduling and automation of processes in disseminating information, database management, monitoring and control of the attached devices, generation of the necessary reports, and providing security to the system. The study made use of concepts from computer science, software engineering, electronics, and telecommunications to build a system that will help manage and disseminate information effectively and efficiently. The researcher followed the Modified Waterfall Approach in developing a software system that was able to meet the objectives that were set at the beginning of this study.
