Performance appraisal of library student assistants in the reference services section at Western Institute of Technology (WIT) Library
Abstract
This action research was conducted from August 3 – September 24, 2007 with a purpose to obtain a performance evaluation of library assistants in the Reference Service Section of Western Institute of Technology (WIT).
The respondents of this study were 15 student assistants of Western Institute of Technology (WIT) particularly working as library assistants in the Reference Service Section of WIT Main Library.
Specifically, this study endeavored to find out the student assistants’ performances only particularly assigned in the Reference Service Section of Western Institute of Technology (WIT). In the conduct of this study their personal profile, such as, age, sex and year level were also included in their performance evaluation. However, this study has its limitation, that, it did not intend to show whether there is a significant difference in the student performances when they are group according to age, sex and year level. The method used in this study is only limited to descriptive analysis using frequency and percentage rating.
