dc.description.abstract | Findings showed that majority of top and middle managers were 41 years old and above, females, occupy the middle position, had 4 years or more administrative experience and 3 or less entrepreneurship trainings/seminars. Most ofthem were holders ofmaster’s degree. Results also revealed that managers had favorable attitude towards entrepreneurial practices, were highly engaged in entrepreneurial practices, and had good entrepreneurial characteristics. The study further revealed that significant relationship exist between sex, and commitment and determination, between number of entrepreneurship trainings/seminars and opportunity obsession, between administrative position, number of years of administrative experience and number of entrepreneurship trainings/seminars, and tolerance ofrisk, ambiguity and uncertainty, between educational attainment, number of years of administrative experience and number of entrepreneurship trainings/seminars, and creativity, selfreliance and ability to adapt, between educational attainment and number of entrepreneurship trainings/seminars, and motivation to excel, between educational attainment and extent of entrepreneurial practices, between all entrepreneurial characteristics and attitude towards entrepreneurial practices, between all entrepreneurial characteristics, except leadership, and extent of entrepreneurial practices, and between attitude towards entrepreneurial practices and extent of entrepreneurial practices. Moreover, the managers’ entrepreneurial characteristics were heavily correlated with their extent of entrepreneurial practices when their attitude towards entrepreneurial practices was kept constant. Finally, when other independent variables were controlled, only attitude towards entrepreneurial practices and motivation to excel were significantly related to the managers’ extent of entrepreneurial practices, hence, these variables were good predictors of entrepreneurial practices of managers. | en_US |
