Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the factors associated with the attendance of SDA members during Sabbath (Saturday) Services. The following are the specific objectives of the study:
1. To describe the socio-demographic characteristics in terms of age, sex, educational attainment, occupation, church location, born in a SDA family, and year were the respondents converted to SDA during the Sabbath Services.
2. To determine the extent of church attendance of the respondents during Sabbath services.
3. To determine the level of satisfaction of environmental need, fellowship need, power need, freedom need, and personal and spiritual need- spiritual growth/auxiliary activities of the respondents.
4. To determine if there is relationship between the socio-demographic characteristics and the level of satisfaction of environmental need, fellowship need, power need, and freedom need.
5. To determine if there is relationship between the socio-demographic characteristics and personal/spiritual need—spiritual growth of the respondents.
6. To determine if there is relationship between the socio-demographic characteristics and personal/spiritual need—auxiliary activities of the respondents.
This study employed a descriptive method of research in order to collect data to test the hypothesis concerning the current status of the subject of the study. The data needed for this report was obtained through the use of formulated questionnaires but passed through editing and validating.
Result and conclusion of the study
The psycho-spiritual needs of the members were very satisfied in the church where they attended.
There is a relationship between the respondents’ demographic characteristics and psycho-spiritual needs.
There is a relationship between the respondents’ demographic characteristics and church attendance during the Sabbath day.
There is a relationship between the satisfaction of psycho-spiritual needs and church attendance during the Sabbath day.
