dc.description.abstract | The study was conducted to determine the level of work performance of the Department of Education-Schools Division of Iloilo employees. Specifically, this study was conducted to examine the relationship between the demographic profile of the respondents and their attitude towards government service and the variation in their level of work performance when classified according sex, age, rank/position, monthly income and educational attainment. The relationship between the respondents’ attitude towards government service and their level of work performance was likewise studied. The descriptive-relational study type of study and one-shot survey design were used in the course of the study. A validated questionnaire was used to analyze the descriptive data. The cross tabulation, frequency count, percentage and mean were used to analyze strength of relationship between variables. The over-all attitude towards government service of the respondents reveals that majority of them have a positive attitude towards government service. As to their level of work performance, fifty eight percent of the respondents demonstrated a very satisfactory level of work performance. Respondents with satisfactory level of work performance are one third of those with very satisfactory rating. Respondents who have an outstanding level of work performance is twelve percent more than twice of those with very satisfactory rating or level of work performance. Based on the results of the study, most DepEd-Iloilo employees have exhibited positive attitude towards government service. Those with positive attitude towards government service have a better level of work performance compared to employees with negative attitude towards government service. Attitude towards government service, in fact, is predictive of the level of work performance. These results revealed that the attitudes of employees in an organization could have a significant effect on their level of work performance, which can either have a positive or negative impact on the organization as a whole. | en_US |
