Introduction and statement of the problemen_US
The refrigeration industry in the province of Negros Occidental is suitably greater in extent and is varied. Presently, refrigeration is essential in many phases of the production, preparation, storage, and distribution of various foods and beverages. The development in this particular industry is occurring rapidly that it is difficult to keep abreast of them. The town of Victorias and its neighboring towns and municipalities greatly affected the economic situation of the people, particularly those of the fishing and prawn industries. Because of the increase and demand, people are not contented with the presence of existing plants. There should be an additional establishment of an ice plant to overcome the tremendous growth of fishing industry in Victorias and nearby towns. The manufacture of ice is still one of the principal needs of refrigeration engineering and will continue to be for the time to come and ice is the cheapest means of short-time preservation of food, if the amount used is nominal and if the locality can furnish it at a reasonable price. As the cost of ice is an important factor, a vast amount of research has been put in to develop an expensive means of manufacture. General information A. Name and location of the firm. The name of the project shall be VICTORIAS ICE PLANT. The plant site and office will be at the Barangay 13, beside the National Highway near the Malihao river, Victorias, Negros Occidental. The name gives the idea where the plant is situated. Thus, the town people have greater tendency to patronize the product because it bears the town's name. B. Brief description of the project. 1. History and Objective The proposal of an ice plant in Victorias came about after studies shown that there is highly a lack of supply of ice in the town of Victorias and other nearby towns as well. 2. Nature of Industry Fishing, as well as prawn industry and other related agro-industries, is vastly growing in the Northern portion of Negros Occidental. For preservation purposes, those products need ice as their primary tool. Also, commercial and household sectors use ice for consumption purposes. The presence of an ice plant will attract both big and small-scaled investors to invest in certain profitable and related industries. 3. Organization of the Project The proposed ice plant is a corporation composed of a group of people with an estimate total manpower requirement of 48 persons. The plant operates 24 hours daily with a three-shift schedule.en_US
