This study was conducted to determine the factors that contribute to the incidence of drop-out of first year law students of Central Philippine University in first semester School Year 2013 - 2014. This study aimed to determine the sociodemographic profile of the respondents in terms of their age, sex, civil status, financial capacity, and employment status; the reasons why the respondents dropped out in law school and their pre-law course.
The one - shot survey design was utilized in this study as this is descriptive- relational. The study participants were 13 first year law students of Central Philippine University in first semester School Year 2013 - 2014. All the thirteen (13) respondents took part in the study.
Findings revealed that Majority of the respondents were young, male, single and unemployed. Most of the respondents have Political Science as their pre-law course. Many of the respondents identified “Low/Failing Grades” as their reason for dropping out in law school. It is also noteworthy that most of the respondents have a monthly income or allowance Php 8, 000.00 or below.
