It also investigated whether personal characteristics such as gender, year level, and number of years in Iloilo had a significant relationship with the aforementioned variables. The research design used in the study was the descriptive correlational style. The data needed for this report were collected through the use of the researcher-made attitude form constructed and validated for the purpose. English Proficiency and Math Performance were measured by academic performance in school. Statistics employed were means, ranks, correlation and gamma. Fifty-six percent of the respondents were males and forty-four percent were females. Twenty-three percent of the respondents were 1st year high school students, twenty-eight were 2nd year high school students, nineteen percent were 3rd year high school students and thirty-one percent were fourth year high school students. Twenty-five percent of the respondents stayed in Iloilo for not more than one year. Twenty-one percent of them stayed for more stayed in Iloilo for not more than one year. Twenty-one percent of them stayed for more than a year but not exceeded four years. Twenty-one percent stayed for more than four years but not exceeded six years and thirteen percent lived in Iloilo for more than six years. It was found out that two out of thirty-two respondents were found to show excellent performance in English based on their average grade in English. About one third performed very satisfactorily. However, forty-one percent of them were found to perform poorly in this subject. Almost sixty percent of Korean students studying in Iloilo City obtained very satisfactory to excellent ratings in Math. However twenty eight percent of them showed poor performance in math. The study showed that there exists no significant relationship between sex of respondents and performance in English. However, significant relationship exists between year level and English performance as well as between length of stay in Iloilo and performance in the same subject. No significant relationship exists between student characteristics such as sex, length of stay and year level and perceived student-teacher relationship. There is also no significant relationship between sex and the respondents’ performance in Math. On the other hand, a significant relationship is observed between year level and performance in the subject. Moreover, math performance is found to be significantly related to the respondents’ length of stay in years in Iloilo City. High school Korean students’ perceived student teacher relationship significantly influenced their performance in both English and Math. In this study, it was also found out that there is a significant relationship between English proficiency and math performance.en_US
