Abstract
A study investigated the levels of perception of BS Psychology students at a university in the Philippines with regards to the usage of Artificial Intelligence tools. It specifically examined how the students perceived academic misconduct associated with the usage of AI tools and the types of tools used across different year levels. A non-probability sample of 231 students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program completed the online questionnaire through Google forms. Kruskal-Wallis Test was used to analyze the gathered data. The findings showed that there is no significant difference found in the year level of perceived academic misconduct with regards to the usage of these tools. This highlights variation of students’ ethical views and opinions regarding proper and responsible application of using these tools in academic work. However, the study also emphasized the need to establish clear guidelines and offering of educational programs on the proper, responsible, and ethical usage. Students can be empowered to use these advanced technologies responsibly while also maintaining academic integrity by improving their academic AI literacy.
